Software

"Computer Software" is the computer code that makes up computer device "Programs". Software can be in anything from a Desktop Computer system, to a "Smart" appliance in your home (with the code embedded in a "computer chip" in that appliance).

"Productivity Software" will be the primary focus of this site. This includes programs such as Word Processor (for composing text documents), Spreadsheet (for financial and mathematical computations), and Image Editing (for both Graphics and Digital Photos). Some "Computer Aided Drafting and Design" (CADD) programs will be discussed as well.

"Operating Systems" will also be discussed. The two most common "OS" Software packages on the market today are the Microsoft Windows family of OS's, and the Mac OS. Another contender that many folks are not too familiar with is Linux. This site will be devoting quite a bit of attention to this "Free and Open Source Software" project (FOSS).

Like any other machine, especially really sophisticated ones, computers need Maintenance ("Care and Feeding"). Some software options for this will be looked at too.
